Throw Pillow (18” X 18”)
Throw pillows are great for their versatility and a clever and inexpensive way to inject personality and warmth into any room.
This throw pillow features a single-sided print and comes with a polyester fiberfill insert. The cover measures slightly under 18” X 18” for a plump fit and is finished with blue decorative piping and a zipper along the bottom seam.
The cover uses cotton furoshiki or traditional Japanese wrapping cloth on the front, and matching blue cotton denim on the back. The fabric has been individually cut by hand and overedge stitching is used on the inside edges for durability.
This furoshiki features mamemaki (literally bean scattering), a special ritual carried out on Setsubun, which is the day before the beginning of spring in Japan. Roasted soybeans are thrown as a symbol of casting away the bad and welcoming the good. 鬼は外! 福は内!
